I'm older; Should be wiser. Still I never seem to learn.

I realized that I was completely and utterly addicted to Clay Aiken again quite recently. I knew I was before, it is just that this time it showed up a little more than I'd like to let on. So here it goes: I knew I was completely and utterly addicted to Clay Aiken when I skipped my only gym (P.E.) class for the next 4 days, lied to a teacher about where I was supposed to be, told about 7 of my friends that I was working on my Biology project, and then by finally spending a good five minutes effectively persuading my librarian to unblock a website for me...and it was all just because I was dying to see a new picture of him. :] Ridiculous, yes. Stupid, yes. But I guess I'm just hopelessly devoted. And no, I didn't get in caught nor did I get in trouble. And the picture? It was worth it. ;-)

Here's my story

My name is Tina and I'm a proud 16 year old Claymate. Everyone has their stories of how they found Clay Aiken years ago when he first walked on the American Idol stage to sing "Always & Forever." But I have to admit that I've only been a fan since March 8, 2008. How I discovered Clay was how a lot of other people found him. Youtube. One video caught my eye, it read something like Jukebox Tour- Iris- Clay Aiken. I couldn't think of another song named "Iris" besides one of my favorites originally sung by the Goo Goo Dolls. So clicked on it, and watched it. and again, and again. I was amazed. So maybe it wasn't his finest hour, but I loved that song and he had me hook with that voice. It wasn't like Josh Groban's voice who my mom listens to and puts me to sleep most of the time. It was different. And then I spotted him singing "Unchained Melody," which was another favorite of mine from when I was little. There was something about his voice that was absolutely mesmerizing, something I couldn't resist. That night I remembered watching dozens and dozens of videos of him both singing and bantering. Making me laugh so hard I almost fell of my chair a few times. I just couldn't believe that I'd missed all this stuff after all this time! I'm jealous of those who have been around since the "early years."
Clay is THE greatest escape from reality that I could imagine. He's the best therapy when I need it, and being a sensitive pisces, i need it! He's the strength that keeps me walking. He's stolen my heart and takes my breath away. He's the reason for the smile on my face. He's my control. He's the reason I like to dream. He's the reason for the butterfiles in my stomach. He's my addiction. He's my reason for writing. He's my reason for drawing. He's my deepest inspiration and no one can ever take his place. And someday, I hope to meet him and thank him for everything he's done for me.

You will never find another person like me. I'm unique. I'm me, to put it simply. I'm a writer and an artist and I take both of those things seriously. I'm the type of girl who wears a big poka-doted dress to Homecoming when all the other girls are wearing these skimpy things showing everything any anything. I'm the type of girl who wears her Converse sneakers in the dead of summer while everyone else is wearing flip-flops. I'm the type of girl who when I get paint or clay on me from Art class, I wear it with pride instead of washing it off. I'm the type of girl who would rather spend a Friday night home reading or writing instead of partying it up. I'm the type of girl who will daydream about everything and anything, every chance I get. I'm the type of girl who is COMPLETELY obsessed with Clay Aiken in the late 2000's while everyone else has a strange infatuation with Twilight or the Jonas Brothers. I'm not like girls my age. and you know what? Like Clay said, we all must embrace our inner nerd.
I'm Tina. :)
